Brandon Scranton was raised in Lincoln, Nebraska, where a deep-rooted sense of public service and a lifelong fascination with history shaped his dual paths as a first responder and a writer. With over 29 years of experience as a Critical Care Paramedic—spanning 911 metropolitan EMS, helicopter flight paramedicine, and hospital-based critical care—alongside 15 years as a police officer, Brandon brings a wealth of real-world investigative grit and high-stakes tension to his storytelling.
Inspired by his English and Dutch heritage and frequent travels abroad, he penned his debut historical murder mystery, Secrets in the Shadows of House Nassau. In September 2025, Brandon made the life-changing move to the Netherlands, where he is currently immersed in the culture and hard at work on the highly anticipated second book in the series.
