The Philosophy About Imperfect Beauty

by LL Wright

To defeat Chiyo, Lorna must obtain a special dagger from the Sea God, Susanoo, trading a promise that her future daughter will train at his shrine. The trio infiltrates a dark ritual, trapping Chiyo's soul within the dagger. They then track down David in a hidden ninja village. They discover the boy has developed dissociative identity disorder to cope with his trauma, manifesting three distinct personalities: David (the core boy), Kitsune (a wild fox spirit), and Ravenor (a dark, prophetic seer).

Alongside rescuing her son, Lorna sets out to heal Ryu, who lost his dragon soul during his past subjugation to Chiyo. Lorna visits the Snow Witch, Yuki-no-Seishi, who reveals they share ancestral witch blood. The witch teaches Lorna a dangerous ritual to temporarily house Ryu's dragon soul within her own womb. Later, during a sensual and sacred ritual at an ancient hot spring, Lorna and Ryu merge their energies, successfully returning Ryu to his majestic dragon form.
